FAQs

  • Why is this being done anonymously?

Truth is two fold - a) we’re rather private people and b) putting your world on the open internet is a little scary. We’re leaving our options open for the future, but for now, this is the best fit for us.

  • Why are you doing this?

Simple: to help. During this whole process, I (Guy) often times wished I had a place to go to read about and ask questions about what to expect that was genuine and didn’t have an agenda. That’s the goal here - to help people that want it.

  • Are you doing this for money?

No. Our revenue from this site is $0. If, somehow in the future, we’re able to monetize our site, we will certainly explore it, but for right now, it is not on our radar.

  • What was your most stressful part?

Without question, it was waiting for the green card approval, and more particularly, the interview scheduling notice to arrive.

  • What was your processing center?

    West Palm Beach, Florida.

  • How much was everything?

    Full break-down is here.

  • Did you use an attorney?

For the initial green card application process, as part of our package with Boundless, an independent immigration attorney reviewed everything. Then, we engaged the services of an attorney to attend our green card interview with us. Not for any particular reason, other than to have someone in our corner that knew the process. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t necessary, but it gave us peace of mind during a stressful time.

  • How does it work being both interviews (I-751 and N-400) interviews at the same time?

The USCIS agent started with the I-751 (since N-400 cannot be approved if there is an open I-751), and did that interview, which was related to our marriage and relationship. Once they were satisfied, they moved to the N-400 portion, which was really just Girl answering questions and doing her tests.

  • Did you ever contact USCIS?

Yes, during the green card wait. This wait exceeded the “normal processing time” and therefore we were allowed to inquire about the status of our case.

  • How do you reach an actual person with USCIS?

Little tricky. We called the USCIS normal contact number and when prompted by the system to tell it why we were calling we keep saying “technical issue” (this method was found on a Reddit thread at the time). We don’t know if this still works, or if it is easier to get an actual person these days, but during our wait, talking to an actual person was incredibly difficult.

  • What was your opinion of Boundless?

  • What was your opinion of RapidVisa?
